Well Mom came this weekend for a definite short but sweet visit. Poor thing literally had 24hrs. here in Lubbock. The flights were full today and so we had to put her on an earlier flight so she could be at work tomorrow. We had a great day of food, football and more food. We did a whole lotta nothin'. But she said she'd rather be sitting here w us doing nothing than sitting at home by herself doing nothing. Maybe next time will be longer though.

I'm trying I SWEAR! I only know of a couple of people that come here regularly that I'm not friends w on fb and I'm gonna do better for YOU! haha

So things have been pretty boring on our front....NOT! haha We've MOVED! Brett is so smart and is such a hard worker that he was offered a job as the Academic Director for football at Texas Tech. That's in Lubbock, Texas. Which is right smack dab in the middle of NOWHERE. It's not a bad city though. Lots of restaurants, friendly people and grocery stores that carry your groceries out to your car!

Football season has started and at first we were really excited about new traditions and memories we'll be making at Texas Tech, but then last weekend we got really really sad. College Gameday was at Auburn and it made us very sad to see that beautiful campus and all the orange and blue on tv. It finally hit us that we're not there anymore and more than likely we never will be. I'll always be an Auburn gal, you can take the girl out of Auburn but you can't the Auburn out of the girl!

Anyway, I'll try to be better! Here are some pics from our move.

This past week we were in Nebraksa. Brett's Grandpa Robinson passed away. It was quite sudden and a little hard to accept. Friday morning Grandpa Robinson had a massive stroke. He was put on life support. From what I was told it was clear that the "life" was out of him. God gave Brett an easy time flying stand-by on Saturday and he made it to the hospital by early afternoon. Everyone, including grandma, was able to make peace and say goodbye before the decision was made to let him go. The visitation was Tuesday night and the funeral was on Wednesday. Brett's mom did a wonderful job of holding it together when she needed to despite her heart breaking. Brett and his sisters were obviously heartbroken as well. We'll all miss his spunk. What a GREAT grandpa he was! Here is a picture of Brett with Grandma and Grandpa Robinson taken at Brenda's wedding and some pictures of the tables w Grandpas pictures and memories.

Of course no trip to Nebraska is complete without a whole new slew of pictures of my adorable niece and nephews. I was able to get some quality alone time w the two littlest ones and Brett got some to play catch w Braydan and work on his "pitching intimidation" technique. I should have gotten a picture of that. Anyway, I won't bore you w how cute they are...you can see that for yourself.

Nebraska Cuteness!!

So this past weekend we made our way to Good Ole Nebraska!! We've only seen Aiden once since he's been born; We haven't seen Bryar at all since she's been born and we keep hearing how Braydan is such a good big brother and cousin. We were so excited to finally get there!!

Friday was a lot of bonding time for us and our niece and nephews. They are all getting so big and so cute! Diana was so sweet to dress Bryar and Aiden up in their Auburn outfits we got them. Braydan got home from school and came right by to see us. Eventually we made our way to Brandi and Dan's and played some Rock Band!!!

So Saturday Braydan had a basketball game. It's been the first time that I've gotten to see him actually play one of the many sports he plays. He's very good!!

Saturday afternoon we got some family portraits done and went out to eat. We were just too cute in our color-coordinated outfits, black, red and khaki.

Sunday was a big day for Miss Bryar. She was baptised! She had a such a cute little dress and wore the same shoes her mom and Aunt Brenda wore when they were baptised. Brett and I were so honored to to be asked to be one of Bryar's sponsors. Unfortunatley I didn't get any pictures at the baptism. Brett woke up in the middle of the night w a stomach virus. He was able to make it through the baptism, but we had a to leave right after so he could get back to bed, poor thing. I did let him get some sleep and went to Brandi's to fellowship w the family.

We had such a good time w everyone and of course (as always) it went by waaay to fast. I miss those little cheeks already! We're hoping for another visit this summer or spring.

As I think y'all know we didn't get to go anywhere over the Christmas Holidays :((( There were waaay too many factors, but it worked out that we go to go see Mom and Daddy and Vera last weekend and Brett's fam in Nebraska this past weekend. It was nice to see everyone FINALLY, but it went by waaaaay too fast.

Then Brett wanted to see what he bought (Alece designed the earrings so he he hadn't seen them yet) Anyway, Brett dropped one and the search was on for the missing earring.

Yay! Matt found the earring!!! Oh, but wait...the house comedian decided to not tell us he found it sooooooooo............

THE STINKERS!!

So you'd think the games would be over now wouldn't you?? Oh noooooooooo. Now it was time for the boys to arm wrestle. What is it with guys and trying to prove their manhood??

That night we went out in Fairhope w Matt, Alece, Adam and my cousins Page and Rudy. OMGosh we stayed out waaaaaay too late. And to make matters worse Page wanted to go to Waffle House so we went and I had made a big stink the night before about Daddy cooking us a big breakfast so I knew in just a few hours I was going to be smelling bacon, eggs and grits coming from the kitchen. Ugh....I was soo not hungry, but I was a good daughter and ate them like a big girl. Ma came by also for some breakfast which was so nice to see her. She seemed to be doing well.

So we went to Mom's and opened presents w her. She got the American Idol Wii game, the Susan Boyle cd and a food processor (which she already had gotten from Paula and already OPENED..so she's taking mine back). I got myself a stand up mixer!! I've been wanting one for soo long. Brett got a portable grill. Can't wait til football season next year!!

That night we went to Cobalt to see Matt again and get some yummy food. I love that place. I was so glad my Granny decided to come. So did Alice and Butch, Wanda and Jimmy and Alece. We had a good time and like I said....ate some delicious food. Oh and a big Congrats to Matt. He interviewed for the GM position at Cobalt and GOT IT!! Go Matt!!!

Anyway, that pretty much sums up our trip to South Alabama. I miss them so much and wish that there was just more time......

I'll have to start a new post for our time in Nebraska. I guess I'm in a rambling mood and so this post has gone on waaaaaaay too long. haha

Before I get started about how great it is to have 2009 OVER I want to announce the birth of my little niece! Bryar Hope Hlavac was born Dec.9, 2009 and she is just the cutest little thing! I haven't had a chance to meet her yet (explains the lack of a thousand pictures) but we're going in 2 weeks for her Christening where Brett and I are were honored to be asked to be her sponsors. I can't wait to meet her and to see my Nebraska family again. Here's a picture I stole from Brandi's fb page. Look at all that hair!! I think she's thinking of her Aunt Audra!

I'm not gonna lie, I couldn't be more happier to have this year over. With the exception of 3 wonderful family events, this year has been crap. My nephew Aiden was born in July, Bryar in December and my brother Matt got married in October. I'm looking forward to getting out of the leftover funk from 2009. So I guess that's my New Years resolution....get out of this FUNK!

So see ya 2009 with your deaths and disappointments...bring on 2010 with hopefully some life and accomplishments!

So I decided to see what all the fuss was about. My neighbor girls are getting together tonight to watch Twilight and going on Sat. to watch New Moon. I was invited, but I if I was going, I was going ALL OUT. I wanted the books read. So Tuesday night before my trip I bought Twilight.....I finished it Wed. afternoon. Yeah, I was THAT caught up in it. Now I'm in the middle of New Moon and can hardly stand it!!! I just have to keep telling myself "I'm NOT a teenage girl, I'm NOT a teenage girl, I'm NOT a teenage girl"

Poor Mr. Bandit sprained his tail last night.

We have no idea how he did it, but he started whining last night and when we looked he had his tail tucked underneath him and was turning in circles. Poor baby. I thought he had ate something he shouldn't have. We had chicken last night w the bone still in and I caught him sniffing around the trash can. He has a tendency to swallow things whole and so I thought he got one and it wasn't digesting properly. Brett took him in this morning to Dr. Albert and low and behold!! I'm sooo glad it wasn't a bone. I was envisioning spending hundreds of dollars on getting his stomach pumped or something. Now he gets some pain meds for the week and he'll be back to knocking people over w that tail soon enough!!

Wahoo!!!!!! Another win for my AUBURN TIGERS!!!!!!!

Well, I brought my camera this time, but I didn't take a lot of pictures. Part of me doesn't want to simply b/c my pictures have been very unreliable lately. I don't know if it's b/c the battery is low or what, but a lot of the ones from Matt's wedding were so blurry. Plus, it's about 4 years old and I can't switch from the "review pictures function" to the "taking pictures function" w/o turning it off and on again. That is very annoying especially if you're trying to catch something quick.

I did manage to take a couple though and HERE THEY ARE!!

I got in trouble for not posting...so I'm here! This is for you Bill!!

Let's see what's been going on. I guess since Aiden has been born, quite a lot since that was JULY!! He has gotten so big! Everytime I see a pic I just can't believe how fast they grow up! I can't decide who he looks like though. Here's the latest that was a few days ago before Halloween.

August was my b'day. I turned the big 2-8!! Yay!! Haha, yes I know I'm a little older than that. I'm 32. The number 32 sounds worse than what it actually is. I don't FEEL what I think 32. I guess I'm just young at heart!

Also, in August I lost my Papa, J.B. Pugh. We found out in June that it wouldn't be long. His Alzheimers was taking over his want to eat and the only way to keep him hydrated w nutrients was through an IV. The family felt they were delaying the inevitable and decided to allow him to let him be w his Savior. What the doctors said would take 2weeks to a month ended up taking almost 2 months!! He was too strong for his own good! The week prior to his passing was a week that I will cherish for the rest of my life. The entire family...aunts, uncles, cousins were at their house just doing what they could to stay busy and spend time w Papa. Brett even got to come. The boys worked in the pastures cleaning up the fence rows, trimming trees and generally keeping busy. The women folk did what they could in the house, cleaning up, cooking the next meal. We all took turns sitting w Papa, holding his hand and talking to him. I'm sure most people would say that he didn't know we were there and couldn't hear or understand what we were saying, but I can't believe that. While, holding his hand if you tried to pull away he would grasp it harder. When you talked to him and looked into his eyes you could see them moving. He was there and he was soaking it all in, especially his time w Ma. What a great man he was. We miss him, but take comfort that he's w the Lord. This is a picture I took (w help from the timer on my camera). That is Papa's tractor and most of the cousins.

September started football season. We had 4 home games back to back to back to back.......It was exhausting! We've got a great group of people we tailgate w. Page and Rudy came up for Ball State. We actually won the 1st 5 games! Every one thought we were gonna rock out the rest of the season, especially after we beat Tenn; we were even ranked after we beat them! Alas, they spoke too soon...we lost 3 back to back. It was very sad :((( I was very proud yesterday though cause we beat Ole Miss. Wahoo! Go Tigers!!!

October has been busy. Believe it or not....my brother Matt GOT MARRIED!! I know!! He's found a great girl who is beautiful and kind and smart. We're all very happy for him. Here are some pics from his day.

Now starts November. We'll see what this month holds. I'll try to keep this things updated. Page and Rudy and the kids are coming up next weekend for the Furman game. We're trying to talk Daddy and Vera into coming as well.

Brandi is looking to have her little girl earlier than expected (maybe even before Thanksgiving). I'm trying to work a lot this month so that I can afford my nephews and niece. If nieces and nephews are expensive I can't imagine how expensive our own kids are going to be!!

We'll be doing Thanksgiving at home this year since the Iron Bowl is the day after. I'm just glad it's a home game. Too much travel. I know, I'm a flight attendant. What's my problem w traveling??!! haha

Anywho, I'm gonna be better, I promise Bill!

Aiden Andrew was born Thursday July 16 at 5:52pm. He weighed 6lb,6oz. Right now he's got a touch of joundis and is in the NICU, but hopefully he'll be out in a few days. I think he's just the cutest little boy in the world. We can't wait to meet him this weekend!!!! I'll have more pictures then, for now these are Brenda's from her fb page.

I stole this idea from my friend Lisa's blog. I'm hoping it will help me to blog more often. Basically, I'm gonna give you some totally useless, totally gross information about me that you could have gone the rest of your day not hearing. Hope y'all are having a great day!!

Today, I mopped the kitchen and decided to focus on the area where the dog's food and water is. They have a kitchen matt that it sits on. We've lived in our house over a year now and this was the first time that I even moved that matt! There was gross hair all over it. I can't believe I let my dogs eat near there! I got the vacuum out for the matt and the Clorox clean-up for the area near the walls. The Swiffer just wasn't cutting it! Ugh, it was really dirty there. Not anymore!!

We had a great visit with my Ron and Diana last week. We were busy the WHOLE time. We made it down to LA (lower Alabama) for Brett's birthday and Pink Pony beer and nachos and back up to Auburn for some good old-fashioned butt grillin'. Yeee Hawww!! We had a wonderful time! Sunday night Brett took the plunge...literally when he got baptized in our new church F B Opelika. He was so happy his parents were here to see it. Thanks for coming! Y'all come back...ya hear!!

Last year when we moved into our house Mom bought us some Daffodils for the planters by our front door. After they died I planted the bulbs by a tree on the side of our house and forgot about them. We had a great day Saturday! Brett surprised the heck out of me by getting me a Blackberry Curve! It's so much fun! I'm afraid I might be a little addicted. Oh, and he decided to throw me off by wrapping it 4 or 5 different times. Little devil

Brett knew what he was getting and it wasn't nearly as elaborate as my gift from him, but he was nevertheless excited about his new Wii game. NCAA Football '09! He couldn't wait for me to open my present so that he could play it. Such a goofball.

Check out the pretty necklace my wonderful husband got me! He surprised me last week while visiting home. He picked the stone out himself. It's a green sapphire and is apparently very rare. He got it at my new sister-in-law Alece's shop in Fairhope called Analece Design. Isn't he sweet??!!

This is another necklace from her shop. She gave me this as a Christmas present.

If you're down there you should go visit her shop. It's where the old Wilkins store was in downtown Fairhope; if not you can go to her website. She's got a lot of neat stones and jewelry as well as a section where you can design you're own beaded jewelry.

We had a blast in Nebraska this year for Christmas. We had some good food (Prime Rib on Christmas, Turducken on Christmas Eve and lots more) baked cookies, made picture frames, Brenda showed us some pictures she took, hung out with friends; We celebrated Brandi's birthday, went sledding (first time for me) and visited the grandparents. Despite the cold it was a great time. We miss our Nebraska family and wish we were closer.

Brett's "Brotha from anotha motha"

Brett and I lost a great friend over the weekend, Virgil. For those that do not know him he was Brett's boss, but more importantly he was a friend, father, mentor and all-around great guy. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Brett is doing alright. This will be a rough next few weeks for him and in the future. Virgil will never be forgotten. There will always be a special place in our hearts for that smile.
Please pray for Virgil's wife, Donna, and his 3 daughters Carolyn, Victoria and Ana. They are in for a rough road and thoughts and prayers are definetly needed.

Update on Marco and the slipper

It's official the slipper is no longer with us. Marco (or Bandit) murdered the poor slipper while I was away this morning. Don't worry, I got these slippers for Christmas last year from mom and they've had a long, good life and are now sitting snuggly by a fire in slipper heaven.

Funny Marco Story

Y'all might not think it's funny, but he's my dog and I'LL decide what's funny. Kapeesh

So lately he's been a lot more affectionate. He's cuddling in the bed at night, putting his head on our laps when we're sitting on the couch (and he doesn't even want a booty rub!)

He's also been a little bit annoying at night. He won't sleep and all he does is walk around the house and all we hear is "click, click" from his paws on the floors. He's also been stealing my slippers at night. I usually wake up in the morning and they are sitting on Brett's nightstand. I don' t know if Brett is taking them from him or if he finds them when he let's them out in the morning, but they are always on his nightstand.

So back to my story. Last night Marco hopped on the bed in the middle of the night like usual. He came right to me and and dropped my slipper on my belly and then jumped off the bed. It's like he wanted to put them in his mouth but he knew he wasn't supposed to have them so he decided to bring them to me!

He's so smart!

Just wanted y'all to know I've downloaded the software for this cool feature on the internet. It's called skype.com and it's completely free!! The cool thing about it is not that it's free. Most of us have cell phones with tons of minutes, but that you can have skype to skype conversations through webcams! I don't know why I think this is so cool, but all you have to have is a webcam and be connected to the internet. I think this will be very cool and beneficial when we have kids. So if any of you decide to download this software let me know and we can chat LIVE and IN PERSON!!

I guess the big rock on my left hand wasn't a big enough hint that I was taken b/c I got majorly hit on today...BY A WOMAN!!

Hehehe, I crack up everytime I think about it.

So I worked IAH-LAX today. I was standing in the aisle during boarding just kind of watching things around me. This lady sitting at an aisle seat just started laughing at me and says "You're funny"-like I made a joke or something. I just thought that maybe I was making a face at someone or something. Then everytime I walked by she would just start laughing--I mean the WHOLE flight--I said something to one of the f/a's the first instance and then I told her when she did it again and kept doing it. She told me "I bet she has a crush on you, b/c she doesn't even look at me when I come by" I just thought she was drunk b/c she just kept giggling every time I came by. Plus, when I picked up trash from the meal service she gave me a napkin with two eyes and it said "I see you smiling"-weird huh?

So anyway, towards the end of the flight I was picking up trash (I was doing that a lot wasn't I) and when I got to her row she gave me her cup and another napkin with stuff written on it. I got to the galley and read it. It said "Allow me to introduce myself, my name is ***** and you are?"
then it said "Turn over". On the back of the the napkin was a picture of two girls and one is giving the other one a bouquet of flowers. There was some other stuff on there too,but I couldn't make it out.

I just about freaked out. At first I wanted to run to the front of the plane and stay there the whole flight, but then the f/a said I should just tell her thanks, but no thanks. So I went up to her and said thanks for the picture, it was really cute and I appreciated it. I didn't want to be mean and not say anything to this lady for the rest of the flight!

The other f/a's had a heck of a laugh. Like I said I've still got it! I don't care if it was a woman!!

Well, the weekend went by waaay too quick. We had a blast and are wanting another weekend like NOW!!! Wendy got to try her first bite of grits at the world famous Waffle House. Tigerwalk was a blast and so was the tailgate. We had such a good time and could feel it on Sunday. Y'all come back now ya here!

Nash-Trashed!!

We had a great time this weekend in Nashville for Jess's Bday. We attempted to take a picture with a timer, kissed some statue booty, walked down a huge hill so that we could take the "short cut" to the Nash Trash bus. The Nash Trash Tour (www.nashtrash.com )was awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone (especially girls) going to Nashville. Those ladies are soooo funny. We met a sweet girl from Austrailia (Frances) who became a fast friend and hung out with us on Sat. night. We danced on a bar, had sex with an alligator(it's a drink) and stayed up past midnight...wahoo!!!

Frances had the camera Sat. night and is suppossed to email me the pics when she gets back home to Austrailia next week. I'll post those then.

Space Shuttle Launch

I have to say this is probably one of the coolest things I've seen since I've been flying. The space shuttle took off about 40 miles from where we were flying (just north of Orlando and at 37,000 ft.) and we were the closest airplane. Luckily, we were told about a minute before launch that is was coming so we were all prepared. The first officer took these videos. Look at the big cloud in the middle towards the top. You'll see a little fireball. That's it!!

Auburn lost on Saturday but who cares I got to meet Taylor Hicks! He performed during the halftime show with the Auburn marching band. It was a neat idea but to be perfectly honest the music was a little slow for his songs. Still it was pretty cool! The second picture I got him getting down! You might have to zoom to see him though. I was pretty far away. Oh well! Soul Patrol!!!!!!!!

What great time we had in the Smokies over the weekend! We stayed in a beautiful cabin over looking the mountains, experienced power outage with a snow storm going on outside and even took our pictures in one of the old time photo shops!

2-the boys race each other doing Nascar arcade thingy. Brett tried real hard but he was no match for the guys that actually watch Nascar.

Weekend in Huntsvillle

Just wanted to show the world what cute kiddies my friends have. The boy in the green is Dean (Jennaaaay's son) and the other little boy is Brendan (Jess's son). We had a good girls weekend as well as I got a good taste of how a one year acts if there are no bananas or mommas in sight. Brett and I have so much to look forward to one day!!
FYI: the picture of Dean making the funny face is the face he makes when he hears the word "no". It's really quite funny. The wagon picture is what happens when 1year olds share a wagon for the first time. Pretty ticked off at first but eventually they came around and we had a pretty nice walk around the neighborhood.

Scotland forever!!

Here are some highlights from our trip to Scotland. We visited the town of Stirling where we saw Stirling castle and sat our royal butts on our thrones and I used the royal toilet. We didn't exactly go to William Wallace monument, but the view was nice from the castle. All in all we had a grand time!!!

We had a grrrrreat time in Scotland. Though we didn't get to go around the table and say what we're thankful for we did get some turkey and lotttts of free wine!! The station manager in Edinbugh, Frank, and the asst., Stephanie, know how to throw a party, dj and everything. My only complaint is that the dj had never even heard of Jimmy Buffett!!!! Can you believe that?!!! As you can tell we got over that one.

Well, we did it. We broke down and got Marco a brother. Isn't he cute!! He is a chocolate lab mix and we got him at the vet. They gave him the name Toby, but we're gonna change it b/c there's already a Toby in our extended family. Any suggestions? Some of his characteristics are beautiful reddish/brown coat; loves his toys; he's quite fiesty; and so far it seems that he's a mama's boy(Brett says "He definitely is a mama's boy!!!). Well, I finally took Brett on a trip with me. He got to go to lovely Limerick, Ireland for a whopping 24 hrs. Don't worry, despite the rain and lack of sleep, we still got out and saw a castle (King John's) and went to a traditional irish pub where Brett tried a REAL Guinness. He didn't like it. I'm hoping that if I take him enough he might actually get to see all of Ireland. It may take a while, but that's the life when you're married to a flight attendant. Cheers!!
